The score
What does a compatibility score mean?
A 0–100 result, when the app can show one, summarizes how two charts compare under its rules. If the browser reading shows a question-mark result, the rows still show which parts of the charts were compared and where the reading suggests ease or asks for care.
What goes into it?
Two birth dates are enough to compare Western Sun signs, Chinese zodiac years and their elements. Birth times for both people can add Chinese birth-hour branches. Moon signs also need usable time zones; Rising signs need birthplaces. Eight Mansions needs each person's stated sex, which you can leave blank.
The app gives these comparisons different weights for a partner, friend or family member. Those weights are Fengshui Forever's design choices. They are not a formula shared by every practitioner. Read how the reading works for more on the two traditions and the birth details it uses.
Why do I see a question mark or “Varies”?
In the browser reading, a question mark means the app cannot show an exact overall number from the details it has. Shared cards and some summaries call that state “Varies.” You can still open the available comparisons and read their individual scores. A date-only reading may leave out Moon, birth-hour, Rising or Eight Mansions details.
Adding birth details is your choice. New information can move the result up or down because the app has more to compare. A changed number does not mean the relationship itself changed.
If you've just met
Start with dates. You do not have to ask someone for a private birth time to have a conversation about the reading.
Read the comparisons beneath the headline
Open a row in the full reading to see the two chart details, the relation between them, that comparison's score, its assigned weight and an explanation. One row may feel familiar while another does not. Neither has to stand in for the whole person.
If you've been together for years, compare the reading with what you already know about each other. Where does it sound like your everyday life? Where does your experience tell a different story?
The Western and Chinese comparison shows how two chart traditions can describe the same pair differently. The Dragon and Rooster example looks closely at one Chinese year relation.
What can the number tell me about a relationship?
It describes a chart comparison made by this app. A score out of 100 is not the percent chance that two people will fall in love or stay together. It cannot tell you what someone feels, how they treat you or whether to begin or end a relationship.
If a chart line catches your attention, ask whether it matches your experience. Birthdays near Lunar New Year deserve a little extra care: see how the app finds your zodiac animal by date.
Method note: Fengshui Forever combines available facets with relationship-specific weights. When a facet cannot be calculated, it leaves that facet out of the weighted result. Without enough evidence for an exact headline, the browser reading shows uncertainty with a question mark; shared cards and some summaries say “Varies.”
